RE: Garmin GPS

You can go to the POI Factory and download several campground files for the Garmin. Passport America, Good Sam, KOA, etc. http://www.poi-factory.com/ You will have to go to Garmin website, then to extras and download the POI Loader to get them into your Garmin. There are several other files also, state cg's combined, Federal and Corp cg's...then to access them on your Garmin, you just need to go to "Extra's" on the Garmin menu.

RE: Getting smoke out of a used RV

We bought a car once that had that tobacco smell....I put one of my Lamp Berger` in it with windows up for a couple of hours...no more tobacco smell...not even when you turned on the ac!! I knew how good it was on cooking odors in the house, so figured it couldn't hurt to try it in the car. When we sold the car, you still could not tell it had ever been smoked in!

RE: Campgrounds/rv parks in and around New Orleans area

RE: I-10 Tunnel at Mobile, AL

We go thru that tunnel all the time. When we bought our 5er I called the dept of roads and bridges in Mobile and asked about going thru the tunnel with propane tanks. He stated that the tanks should be turned off. We turn our tanks off to travel anyways, we keep our rig plugged into shore power so as long as we don't open the fridge a lot during travel, everything will stay nice and cold for a few hours.

RE: Fort Wilderness the weeek after Christmas 2008

We went the second week of Dec this year. It is supposedly their "lightest" time of year. It was much easier than when we went in April a few years ago, so I would highly recomend this time of year...we actually had reservations at Pop Century hotel..but decided to take daughters motorhome. On our way to Florida, we called Fort Wilderness, jst to see if we could change...lo and behold the guy helping us found us a premium spot!!! We did have to stay at the hotel the first night....so that may be an option for you. Pop Centurey was $82 a night....Fort Wilderness was $59 during that week. Good Luck and be sure and book the Hoopdi Do Review at Fort Wilderness!!! Worth every penny and the kids are still talking about how much fun it was!!

RE: New orleans camping trip

There is a state park across the river from NO...Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego, LA...probably a 15 minute trip to N O ...if traffic is good and no wrecks on the bridge. There is a cg in the middle of the French Quarter that's fairly new...I really don't think you'd want to stay with your family in N O East area where there are a couple of cg's.... if you don't mind an hour's ride to the Big Easy...look into the Slidell, Hammond, area...called the North Shore or even in the Picayune, MS area. Good Luck and have fun!

RE: Tom Sawyer RVpark in Memphis,TN

We stayed here this past summer...is actually in West Membphis, Arkansas just acros the river. You can see the Ms River Bridge from the cg, sit under your awning and watch the barges go by on the Ms river, free laundry, excellent free wifi...if we are in the area again, it is the only place we will stay.

RE: Anybody else have a floor problem w/raptor 3600RL

Be sure and check your rubber roofs on your raptors also...daughter and son in law had theirs peel back...rubber roof warranty would not cover it, said it was an installation problem, Keystone said it wasn't their problem...rv insurance did end up paying for new roof.

RE: Peanut Butter Fudge

I use the recipe on the back of the marshmallow cream jar, Fantasy Fudge is the name...I just substitute the chocolate chips for peanut butter. It's great!!

RE: Arkansas Diamonds...

I kind of agre with the first answer, only it wasn't two hours to Hot Springs. We took a day trip to Hot Springs and if I remember correctly it was less than an hour from Murfreesboro. The kids actually had more fun at an Indian place there close to the diamond mine looking for arrowheads, they actually found them!! They have some great state parks in the area...stay there and take a day trip to the diamond mine. Also take your own buckets and shovels and any thing else you can think of...renting theirs can get expensive. This park Lake Degray state park Have fun and enjoy your trip, whatever you decide. The Crater of Diamond state park is a very nice state park and I would camp there again.
